Macy’s has a large network across the country, but the store at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and 34th Street is not only the largest one in New York City, Macy’s Herald Square is the largest store in the world!

Two words in this place’s name are its key attributes - premium and outlets. This place is a city of outlets. Gucci, Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, Kate Spade New York, and about a hundred other premium outlet clothing and footwear brands. The list of all stores is available on Woodbury Common Premium Outlets' website. It will take approximately 1.5 hrs to get there from midtown Manhattan.

The Mall at Short Hills

This mall is located in nearby New Jersey (which means no taxes on clothing, i.e. almost 9% savings, but the bags and footwear will be taxed at 7%, unlike 8.875% in NYC). All shops are conveniently located in one place - five department stores (Saks 5th avenue, Bloomingdale's, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus), designer stores (Chanel, Dior, Prada, Henri Bendel, Burberry, etc.), your favorite stores for everyday clothing (Abercrombie, Gap, Ann Taylor, Juicy Couture and others), Apple Store, children’s Gap Kids, Ralph Lauren Kids, etc., as well as Tiffany, Cartier, Bulgari and other jewelry shops. Jersey Gardens / The Mills at Jersey Gardens

Now called The Mills at Jersey Gardens, this outlet shopping center is located in nearby New Jersey. Some spend the whole day and then come back the next day. It includes the outlets of Gap, Banana Republic, Gymboree, Victoria’s Secret, Armani Exchange, Kenneth Cole, H&M and many other stores. Please see the full list on their site.
