Tootsie is part of the new crop of musicals opening on Broadway in 2019.

Tootsie is about a talented actor, but difficult person, who is struggling through auditions. With a surprising stunt, however, the character secures a dream acting gig.

The music for the production is by David Yazbek (a Tony Award winner, also known for The Band’s Visit, The Full Monty, Dirty Rotten and Scoundrels). The book is by Robert Horn (13; Dame Edna, Back with a Vengeance), choreography by Denis Jones (Honeymoon in Vegas and Holiday Inn for which he was nominated for a Tony Award) and musical direction by Andrea Groody (The Band’s Visit).

Tootsie is directed by Scott Ellis (She Loves Me, On the Twentieth Century) who has won an Oliver Award and has been nominated eight times for the Tony Award.

Audience

Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.
