The most famous ski resorts are in Colorado. Ski passes can be more expensive than in Europe, but the ski areas will also be significantly bigger. Excellent infrastructure, great slopes, great hotels.
If you don’t want to fly to Colorado for skiing and would like to explore options closer to New York City, try Vermont. Vermont is known for its stunning scenery.
Check the ski resorts websites, but usually they are open from the first snow until early April.
